Summary: Entertainment attorneys and musicians, Mike Moore and Spencer Trowbridge, will be providing a clinic on low-cost (and no-cost) steps that any band or solo musician can take themselves to protect their rights.
We will include tips regarding releasing a CD, and the speakers will also provide guidance highlighting the essential important issues in music contracts. Topics include:

- Why you Need to Register your Copyrights (and How to do it)
- Trademarks – What Rights Can you have in your Band Name
- Why and How to set up a Legal Business Entity (LLCs, Corporations)
- Eleven Important Aspects of Music Contracts
The speakers will be available to answer your questions after the presentation.
About the Speakers: Mike Moore’s practice focus currently includes licensing transactions, patent prosecution and litigation support, as well as entertainment law. Moore has licensed video and audio rights, rights of publicity, and musical performance rights. Moore is a musician performing locally.
Spencer I. Trowbridge practices in the areas of intellectual property, business, and entertainment law. Prior to joining the firm, Trowbridge was corporate counsel at CD Baby, the world’s largest digital distributor of sound recordings. Trowbridge has a background as a professional musician, and has composed and recorded music featured in film, video, television, and videogames.
